SAC Luke Tyler - Training Diary 27 October 2011

7:00am we woke up not liking the fact that it is still dark when we get up now.  We set off for morning mobility and core strength as normal Matt led today.  We set off at 8:00am on a 45 min drive to meet coach at Brannenburg on the German - Austrian boarder.  Asking us to stay awake for a drive longer that 15mins is a big ask, we didn't all make it.  Coach met us at 9:00am and set off for a long steady skate up Sudelfeld the same hill we went up before on classics.  Classicing up it is one thing, skating is a lot harder.  Before we started coach told us to think about the placement of our feet for skate one and the crunch on skate two.  We mainly did skate one and two all the way with few water breaks. Danny and I kept thinking coach would stop again at the next corner for another break but he didn’t!  We reached the top covering an approximate distance of 16km in a good time of 1hr 35mins, not bad at all.  In the afternoon we went on a 30 min steady run and conducted dry shooting practice in the evening.  We are all looking forward to Seigsdorf tomorrow on classics.
