Cha-na-na-na-na. Cha-na-na-na-na. Cha-na-na-na-na. The same old alarm that wakes Danny and I up every morning, sounding off at .
Last night I didn't get a very good night's sleep, I kept having the same stressful nightmare! (violins please...) Skiing the wrong way in a race! Missing all my targets! Falling over all the time! My nervous brain playing tricks with me grrr. Today was the 10km Biathlon Sprint Race and everyone was excited! The amazing thing about Biathlon is that ANYTHING can happen! As most of the teams skating times are around the same, every single shot counts and determines how many penalty loops you will be completing, rapidly decreasing your moral! Exciting stuff or what? :D
Last minute preparation of our skating skis to make them faster in the current conditions were undergoing by the Coach, as I listened to some loud, motivating, pre-race music on my headphones. :D (Ready to go - Martin Solveig feat. Kele normally does the job!)
Zeroing commenced at 0840 without any major difficulties, which led onto getting our rifle and skis all marked up for the race. :)
The race order was myself, Danny, Luke, Coach closely followed by Mat. The team did extremely well coming 3rd overall. I was is a mixed team with the remainder of 1 LSR and we came 4th – result :D! Tomorrow is our final day of racing here in Les Contamines, and it is the 4 x 7.5km Biathlon Relay Race, read Mats’ Blog to get the results tomorrow evening!
