SAC Mathew Bailey - Training Diary 27 January 2012
Luke practicing his prone shooting
We had a nice lie in this morning after the big race yesterday 15k for Luke and I and the 20k that coach, Danny and Carl completed. We had some time to relax this morning because we were not due on the range to shoot till 13.30 so we had a little time in the morning to chill out and rest a little more. At 11.00 we had lunch then headed off down to the wax rooms to meet coach and go over to the range. Like the previous range sessions we have had we did the first half an hour zeroing. We all zeroed fast so we decided to go out and check out the course for tomorrow’s 10k sprint race. it is an ok course with two big climbs and a nice flat section through the woods. By the time we got back to the range everyone was shooting on metal targets with half the range prone the other half standing. We all did 8 mags each on the metal targets. I was happy with my shooting hitting all of my first four mags, coach only missing one shot all day so he was happy. After the shooting we all went back to the wax cabin to prep the skis for tomorrow’s race by ironing in base layer of wax into our ski’s. Tomorrow we are racing at 1500 which will be later than we have raced yet so lunch will be awkward, also the results I doubt will be official until well into the evening so keep an eye on the following link; http://www.britishbiathlon.com/pages/BritChamps2012.htm
