SAC Danny Sinclair Training Diary 11 August 11

This time we beat the Boss up which was far better than waking up to the door about to fall off :/ . Morning mobility "not my favourite part of the morning routine" ,only a light jog with a few leg swings but very important. It was Steve's turn to take the ropes for abs "jesus steve!! its 0715" ;) if we carry on like this we'll all have abs like Carl (he loves his trumpet being blown).

I was told we were going Nordic walking hmmmm. Maybe not, more like Nordic climbing. The pace was pretty fast which worried me quite a bit to start with but I just stuck with it. Steve was probably fed up with me asking him how far was left to go. Great views all the way up, I was more interested in taking on water due to the fact the weather had decided to change from the dull wet days earlier in the week to baking hot. Anyway we hit the top in 1.20 hours 10 minutes faster that the team previously completed it in. Anyone looking at us must have thought it was a wet t-shirt competition with everyone’s clothing covered in sweat.

What goes up must come down... we took the easy way, the lift. Coach had a little word with me as we stepped into the lift with a couple of strangers “no farting Danny”, I’d still been having gastric problems due to the amount of tortellini we are eating.

Back at the shack.. Tortellini I say no more. After lunch me, Carl and Coach headed off to town for a nice ice cream, making the most of the great weather. Not everything could be perfect though, there was a strange amount of wasps extremely attracted to Carl “they were definitely fond of the black guy” but they had their moments with me, forcing me to run off down the street like a mad man.

It’s not all fun and games, back in to the ranges with the main focus being on sight alignment,  a few short one shot drills mixed with a few holding our breath to simulate being in a race situation. We moved onto 1k classic loops with no poles firing on metal targets, plus a few spectators in the stands “pressure”. It was quite a hang out due to the morning’s session but a constructive days training.
