SAC Luke Tyler - Training Diary 21 September 2011

First day training back in Germany it is only three of us because Carl and Danny are on a Joint Service Biathlon Shooting Instructor (JSBSI) course and will be joining us again on Saturday. We woke up and 07:15 to do morning mobility and core exercises then left to meet coach at Seigsdorf at 09:15am and were keen to try new roller-skis coach had for us to use. The new roller-skis have thinner wheels (they will help us improve our balance) and it took some time for me to get used to, but Steve and Matt seemed to take to it quicker than me but I got it by the end of the 2 hour ski. After Steve made tuna pasta and chilly for lunch, a good combination, we went to the range to shoot but due to unforeseen circumstances we had to change the training program and coach had a special session to replace it with. The training was along side the ski jump area adjacent to the range (so I am sure you can imagine how steep it was!) and consisted of walking, running and jumping up a lot of stairs that ran alongside the ski jump, strength exercises I think coach called it. At the end my legs where like jelly and it was not a nice drive back to the house. We went to the pool later on to relax and on the way back picked up some bananas for the bike ride tomorrow, matt seemed to be unusually looking forward to the ride, we will see tomorrow if he still thinks the same!
