Back in after a nice weekend off and the training has changed now due to the fact we were meant to be in Obertilliach, Austria on snow but their isn‘t any at the moment. This is due to the unseasonably mild weather in southern Europe which is preventing it snowing. Instead we will doing three days on one day off for the next twelve days , then we travel to Obertilliach at the end of the month where hopefully there will be some snow :).
We started this morning with a bit of a shock, as we got down to the track we found that it had frozen over so we could not do the planned roller skiing. It was the coldest morning to date and we have noticed over recent days that the temperature is starting to drop. So with no skating possible, Coach had to change the plan and decided to have a few little shooting competitions. The Boss was overall top shot due to being on one of the winning teams, and he won the most individual shoots. After that we ski-ganged up then down the big hill and into the range, alternating between prone and stand as we came in.
In the afternoon we headed off up to the Hochfellen Mountain for a hill reps session on the mountain bikes. The route was about a mile on a 20% gradient and we went up 3 times. It was daunting to begin with, but with a few mental exercises on the way up it changed the state of mind and made it feel easier. The power of the mind!
