Another Friday in Ruhpolding and another race simulation to smash. We started the day in the normal fashion with the boss coming out on morning mobility to keep us company. Luke led the core session then we got ready to head out to crack two loops of the Siegsdorf loop on classics. Coach was already there when we arrived so we got kitted up only to find Luke had a problem with his classic skis so he couldn’t join in. Instead he went for a nice 10 mile run back to the house (glad I wasn’t him). We did the first loop ok then set out for the second. Half way round the second loop Coach told us to do a double pole kick technique up all the hills on the way back, this was a lot harder and helped us to build strength and technique in it. After we finished we headed off back to the house where Luke was already back, so he started to make lunch. We were having an early lunch today because we needed to get down to the range and be off by 3.oopm. This was due to a biathlon event sponsored by BMW. So at we set off down the range to get ourselves zeroed and warned up for a race start. After a warm up and zero we all set off at 1 minute intervals with Carl going first and me going last. It was another hard race with us all doing well and Luke winning his first race. I had a bit of a nightmare with my standing shooting but like coach said “The best training you can do is racing”, it was a good learning point.
