Today started off a bit different to most training days as
we played football with the local Czech team, losing by only one goal. Once
finished with the football which was our warm up for the first training session
we moved across onto the running track. Last week we all completed a best
effort 3K run which the Coach then took 10% off and produced a series of new
split times to do over the next 6 weeks with the end goal to be able to
complete the 3K 10% quicker next time. Today we were scheduled to do 8 x 400m
with a 100m walk rest between at our individual timings. Once again as last
week there was a group of German National team training there at the same time.
After lunch we set off for the stadium to train for the afternoon. Coach set up
a various course's of tight corners, turns, jumps and straights using cones so
we could work on our footwork. First off we started slow to work on technique
and gradually improved getting faster and faster each time. We started with no
poles at first then moved on to using poles later in the training session. To
finish off each course we all timed each other to see who could go round the
course the fastest .
