SAC Carl Pointer - Training Diary - 29 June 2012

Me on the final fleet of stairs

Good morning! Or maybe not? Eventhough, it was pouring down with rain this morning, nothing could dampen the fact that we going to continue to train hard, travel Europe, meet new people, represent the Royal Air Force and our Squadrons. Living the dream!

Continual 2 footed junps
This mornings session involved double polling up various large hills on the Siegsdorf route. Focusing on reaching forwards, getting up on our toes, while crunching and tensing the abdominals massively. God help our abs and triceps over the weekend lol
Coach bringing up the rear
The Coach also taught Grant how to skate 2 and tested his ability to determine which technique was the best for that particular gradient of hill.

The afternoons sessions took us to the range, after zeroing, warming up with running combi shoots, both prone and stand we moved on to the stairs of the ski jumps. 3 repetitions were completed, 1 on each of the big ski jumps consisting of various types of bounding and jumping both 1 and 2 footed. It was not a bad start to our strength training for the year and we will eventually be doing 5 reps at least by the end of the summers training. Words cant describe how painful this is on our trembling legs! but a great session to finish the team training element of the week, just an hour free training tomorrow morning before we relax for the weekend.
