Matt & I on Hochgern (I think, or Unterberg last year?)
On this weeks Wednesday bike ride, Kevin Kane of the GBR
biathlon team joined in and showed us a different cycling route. Grant mainly
felt the grunt of the session. However, most of the team have been feeling
rather tired, today didn't help lol! In fact everyone was fast asleep after
lunch! While I was out scouring for my watch ( as explained later :|)
The majority of the route was flattish (to the average
mountain bike rider!). That was until we came to the foot of Hochgern (A
mountain 1565m above sea level), its very rewarding getting to the top though!
Once at the peak there was a scary downhill section where the gradient was
ridiculously steep, all the loose gravel didn't help. Hopefully tomorrow will
be more forgiving! :p
Although, I enjoyed the ride I sadly fell over on a slippery, wet, wooden
bridge. To everyones amusement, I hit the ground with a great thud, snapping my
watch strap and into the deep fast moving river it went (say goodbye to almost
400 smackeronies) Gutted! :( Oh and Mat had another puncture! maybe this time
he will invest in a puncture repair kit?
