Coach, Mat & Carl towards the top of the climb |
We were down the range first thing this morning cracking on
with practicing shooting from the standing position. First of all we had to
fire twenty rounds at each of the five upper targets trying to get as tight a
group as possible. Once finished to give us a break from shooting (eyes on
stalks!!) we went a jog round the stadium. Once back we went onto metal targets
doing a ripple shooting practice where one after the other we took it in turn
to take a shot at our own targets (making us stay in position longer). After we
had fired all twenty rounds we finished off with a competition to see who could
hit all their targets while performing one shot drills (which I won both
times!!!!). After lunch we were meant to be going Nordic walking up Unternberg
but due to heavy rain and severe thunder and lightning that got binned and we
worked on some classicing on the lower sections of the Unternberg mountain. The
coach worked with me for the first ascent pointing out where I could improve,
there was a lot, Carl and Matt meanwhile worked away getting to the top. Once
we made our way up the hill for me twice and the others three times we finished
up and headed home, another day of training completed.
