Carl unable to stop posing and Mat just before his almost awkward meeting |
Today we went on our usual Wednesday mountain bike ride revisiting
the first bike ride we ever did out here in Ruhpolding, Germany. Although this
time we completed it twice round. First time we did it I personally found it
pretty tough on my legs especially but this time all of us pushed through and
completed it two times round within a good time and found it a lot easier than
before. It was a good indication that we are getting fitter which is nice to
know with all the hard work we have all been putting in. The track at the start
takes us round the bottom of the Rauschberg but then cuts away past the range.
Further in there is, compared to the other hills we’ve experienced, a couple of
not to steep but long climbs. Going up the key is to keep peddling at the same
speed and change the gears accordingly which proves to be difficult if your
chain decides It’s had enough and comes off. After a couple of seconds with the
chain back on I caught back up with the other lads and we proceeded to finish
the climb to the top of the hill. Once at the top we had a short break, couple
of photos and we were back once again doing the best part, going downhill! Once
back at the house we turned around and set off again this time trying to avoid
anything going wrong which for us must be difficult because as we came out of
one of the underpasses Mat saw a women standing, in plenty of time luckily, and
started turning to pass. As she turned around she saw there was a bike coming
in her direction and moved the same way as Mat had turned. Couldn’t have been
more unlucky! Having plenty of time Mat
put on his brakes and after a short stop to smooth everything over and a laugh
between us and the women we continued on with the second loop as planned.
Luckily with no more problems.
