SAC Carl Pointer Training Diary 17 August 2011

This morning everybody cringed as soon as we saw the Coach’s new cones! ( He’s being going on about them for weeks now). Sprint races testing all of the different skating techniques, skate 1, skate 2, skate 3, double polling and no poles). Dripping with sweat, racing in 27 deg C heat, only looking forwards to the next water break for a rest. Apart from Matt who was complaining of a tight chest (Pussaaay!!!!!).

I was actually quite surprised that there were only 3 falls haha! (Danny, Steve and I). I also forgot to mention that we raced in pairs, roughly the same ability. I even beat the Coach at double polling (woop woop!) There was one point where I kept getting confused about which side to skate 3 on, which left everyone in stitches, grrr!

Tortellini, pesto, bacon and chopped Frankfurt sausages for lunch, then I skipped off to the bike shop to buy another well-needed waterbottle holder for the bike ride tomorrow. And then “Boom” to schlafen (Sleep in German).

In the afternoon we focused on our Classicing and shooting skills, which involved doing several laps of the German National Biathlon Centre. The coach was very impressed with our performances today, with both our skating and shooting techniques, what a day! (illegal Hurrrp! )
