SAC Carl Pointer - Training Diary 28 September 2011

Following Morning mobility, a core circuit and breakfast Danny and I had to test the teams urine. The coach brought this into operation because certain people in the team were not hydrating properly! Today Matt and Steve Failed (tut tut).

Did you know?
75% of the body is made up of water
80% of the brain is made up of water
75% of the muscles are made up of water
92% of the blood is made up of water
Water carries nutrients and oxygen to all cells in the body
Water helps convert food into energy
Water regulates body temperature
1% dehydration results in thirst
There is a 10% decrease in your mental performance when you feel thirsty
2% dehydration reduces your ability to work
4% dehydration results in lethargy, apathy and mental symptoms
If you are dehydrated you are more likely to have trouble concentrating, be more irritable and have more headaches

Today the team had a nice, long, easy, endurance classic ski session, climbing a new mountain called Sudelfeld. Nobody struggled and the mountain was conquered in 1hr 37mins, which was completed 13mins faster than last year's team!
In the afternoon we relaxed and then went on to do some dry-shooting for 30mins.

P.s. I forgot my water bottle for the morning session so I guess the highlight of my day was obviously practicing putting on Snow chains as a punishment...(pause)...Naaaaaat! :D
