SAC Steve Boyes has unfortunately had to leave the team.

Steve was released from II Sqn to train and compete with the team and represented II Sqn perfectly, he initially struggled with some of the technical aspects of skiing but when it clicked there was no stopping him as he went on to win the RAF Nordic Novice Championship which was held over 2 grueling races in Scotland during September. Just before returning to the UK Steve raced against some of the GBR biathletes who also train in the same area and showed good potential being the best shot in the regiment team and hitting more than he missed which is always the aim for a novice athlete (results can be seen below in an older post).

I am sorry to lose a determined and committed athlete like Steve and the team and I wish him well in his future endeavors.
