Carl leading the team up the mountain |
We had morning mobility as normal Luke led the core session. We were skating up the Untersburg mountain working on strength. When we got to the bottom of the mountain coach was already there, he told us we were going to break the hill down into 3 sections starting off with skate 2 up to a certain point then no poles up to the next point then we were going to double pole the rest of the way to the top. We were going to do it 4 times each taking it in turns to drive the wagon to the top so we could give us all a lift back down to the bottom each time. I was driving first so set off to the top to wait for them to reach the top. After nearly 20 minutes they reached the top everyone was sweating a lot so I knew it was going to be hard work. I set of on my time up the hill. Near the end of the double poling my arms were burning and i was sweating a lot. I did this another three times and by the end my arms were hanging out and was glad to climb back into the wagon. We set of back to the house for lunch and a rest before our afternoon session on the range. At 2.30 we set of down the range for a classic shooting combi session. When we got there we did the normal routine of dry shooting followed by zeroing with coach bringing us on. After the zeroing we went straight into a small classic loop just round the range then coming in for 5 shots on the paper targets we did this two times then checked our groups and coach further adjusted our zero from our fall of shots. We then went to do a big loop at the range classicing over some of the hills before coming into the range and shooting onto the metal targets, we did this for an hour practicing shooting with an increased heart rate.
