I'm not going to go in to the early morning routine because it pretty much the same..
so we headed off down to the range all looking forward to some lovely sprints, just before we started off we had a little re cap on how to warm up properly, 30 mins easy ski with a few high pace intervals, ensuring that we don't start feeling burn in our legs using up vital energy for the race, in this case training session.
On to the sprints and basically it was a 70m square with wooden fencing most of the way around, (luke managed to get to know it very well by impaling himself in it on the first loop.. the fifth and many other times, it wasn’t his day). Basically we would use different techniques max effort from one end to the other, this time Carl managed to get it right by switching from his good side to bad. He just couldn’t get it into his head last time and just used his good side.. cheater ;).
we would do each technique three times then do the same but go there and back, we went through this sequence twice. It wasn’t too bad on legs but we still had a afternoon session to look forward to.

Carl & Coach about to start a sprint |
In the afternoon we were back down the range for a running combi, (running and shooting). We all now have a rough zeroing point so that when we are at a higher hart rate we will be centre on the target. After a few short runs and a few long ones we went into little shooting competitions, coach had this crazy way of pairing up the teams by asking someone who they wanted to face, but whatever they said they would never get.
So the first comp was Luke and Steve v me and Carl v Matt and coach. The aim was to knock all five targets now first, there was a little twist where if you took too long the targets would reset back to none :/ Carl and I being the awesome shots we are obviously won.
The second didn’t really count as there was a bit of controversy over Luke starting on the matt and eventually winning, so that didn’t really count. And we had a similar incident in the third with the coach and Matt.
All in all was a great days training with a bit of pressure creeping into the training in both the skiing and the shooting with the head to head pairings.
