So the second to last day of training before we head off to Austria for the good stuff (SNOW!!), wooo! We started the day off at the Hochberg Mountain it was very cold and fog brought the visibility down to around 150m. We arrive early so whilst waiting for coach to arrive, me and Carl started throwing logs and rocks onto the iced over lake, yes we were acting like a bunch of school kids. Once coach arrived we set off on classics skis with the aim to achieve three similar times at a good pace up the 1.5 mile route up the mountain. It was quite a beast and we all pretty much achieved the aim.
This afternoon we headed down to the Siegsdorf Loop for a skate rather than the classic skiing we have been doing recently. The pace was nice and I was feeling good right until my pole went down the drain and nearly pulled my arm out of its socket causing me to lose my tip - good job coach didn’t find out :P. This was the last training session on roller skis and now we are looking forward to a nice walk up a new mountain tomorrow then off to snow on Saturday :).
Finally, a big well done to FAY POTTON (RAF) and all the other ladies and gents who got picked for the IBU and World Cup GBR Teams. All the results a statistics can be found here: http://www.britishbiathlon.com/ unfortunately me and Carl could not attend the trials due to my late start to training and thus affecting my fitness levels and Carl due to unforeseen problems. Hopefully we can make a good impact at nationals and show them we have potential.
But coach checks the blog every day!!!
