Morning mobility was the same as usual, Coach led the core strength circuit which Luke was due to take but couldn’t due to his lower limb injury.
Rain and a grey sky made it hard for us to smile this morning, but we eased into our classic session with Mat trying out klister wax (a special wax made for wet snow) for the first time.
The wax worked and did its job, however it wasn’t the best! So we had to have good technique and bags of aggression to tackle the hills.
At lunch we had some of Dannys’ 'Peppery Pasta' and fresh Austrian bread, followed by a nice siesta :D.

In the afternoon we spent 1hr 30mins strength training, (including the warm up/down loops) double poling and skating with no poles up numerous hills, tiring yes!
In the evening we joined the Army for a really interesting lecture by Dr Stewart Laing, a Sport and exercise physiologist for UK Sports, who flew out from the UK specially. He shared valuable information on such topics as:
- Hydration.
- Diet.
- Illness.

Pretty much everything you needed to know inorder to do the best you can in a particular sport. He also mentioned that their are some obvious factors for example your genes, natural ability to pick up a sport (aptitude), what sports/exercise you’ve done in your life to keep fit and the frequency of them.
