The snow chains are finally out! Obertilliach saw its first bout of snow last night, so yes their were plenty of snowball fights but unfortunately no snowmen! The weeks of punishing practise, putting on them blasting snow chains didn’t go to waste after all, reducing our time out in the freezing cold with numb hands to a minimum - boom!
Our easy classic ski session whizzed by this morning! Like my maths teacher used to say, "doesn’t time fly when your having fun" lol. Again it was only the Boss, Coach, Mat and I that had the pleasure of sampling the freshly fallen snow.
I received some very valuable tips from the coach on how to improve my technique. Maybe next time I'll be 9 seconds in front of him instead! :PAfter the 3 x 2.3k biathlon race the other day my confidence and morale were severely flattened after narrowing my weakness down to my first lap (which I pretty much sprinted). Today we zeroed our rifles and then went off individually to complete the race loop from the other day (2.3km) eight times instead of three! On the range I shot well, so inside I know I can do it! I just need to pace myself, remember to shoot how I normally shoot in training and try not to let myself get distracted by other athletes on and around the range.
