SAC Daniel Sinclair - Training Diary 15 December 2011

Today we only had one training session, it was our last classic ski of the year.  We had 2 hours to ski and we were left to concentrate on techniques that we individually need to improve on or fine tune.  Everyone took it slow because we were still hanging from yesterday's training.  We did the top and bottom loop 8 times working on technique, I lead the first couple of loops then Luke took over the lead and he naturally increased the pace a little.

The afternoon we had team equipment to sort out, which included cleaning down and packing away the classic skis, when we were alerted to what sounded like an old war time air raid siren echoing around the town and a lot of smoke from outside.  Carl and I went outside to investigate and found that one of the hotels over the road was on fire and filling the whole street with smoke... hmmm I wonder where the Ukrainian National Team are going to stay now?! :/

Three days left of the Winter Training Camp and we then start the competition phase in the New Year.  Sunday will be a good end to the camp with a biathlon race against 1 Logistic Support Regiment, one of the Army’s best Nordic and biathlon teams.  Keep an eye out on Sunday for the results of that race.
