We woke up at today a little sleep in for us. It was another race day we had the 10 km classic race today so me and Carl went out for morning mobility a small jog around Obertilliach. Luke and Danny were still out for this race so they stayed in bed till we came back. We got ourselves some breakfast and sorted our admin out for the race. We had to make sure our classic skis were all cleaned down for the race and ready to put the right wax on for the snow conditions outside so Carl, Coach the boss and myself all went downstairs to clean off our classics. At 10.00am we all headed off down to the track to prepare for the race. It wasn’t starting till but we got down there early to get our skis waxed up properly so we knew we had good stick for the race. When we got there we set up our own little waxing shop next to track and coach talked us through the right wax’s to put on and how to do it lucky he used one of my skis as the demo so I only had to do one. We all got waxed up and then chilled till the race started. I was first to go so at I got set off on my race with Carl behind me followed by the coach and the boss bringing up the rear. It was a track with two very different sides with one side being all double poling and double pole kick with the other half behind hill and two phase. I was tired going on the hills but I pushed hard and went all out. On the start of the third lap Carl took over me as we both took the boss before a downhill. It stayed that way till the end and Carl and I were both happy that coach did not take us in the race. Overall I think it was good race training for us all and I enjoyed my first classic race on snow.
