SAC Carl Pointer - Training Diary 16 January 2012
I must say it's awesome to be back in Ruhpolding again! It almost feels like my 3rd home.
Morning mobility was incredibly cold and pretty much just one big blur as usual (apart from the Bosss’ silly illuminous hat lol). Danny took an arduous ab circuit, our first in quite some time, and it was obvious with all the growning going on.
A big bowl of 'Crunchy Nut' cereal was enough to fuel me up for enduring a short 1hr 30min skating combo, starting off with 1 shot drills on to proper 5 shot series both prone and stand. Once again the coach got excited and took us on a skating guided tour of the extra snowy tracks that we were oblivious in the summer.
All of the snow cannons were on full blast for the Biathlon World Champs later this year (not that they need anymore!). Which leads me nicely onto the highlight of the day, Danny, Luke and I were all blinded and taken out by a single snow cannon on top of an unfamiliar hill (how embarrassing!).
In the afternoon we got the chance to sort out any admin and to just simply relax our beaten bodies lol.
