Sluggish falling wet snow made our skating-combi training session slightly more tiring than normal today on a very busy range.
Everybody is wishing for a few cold nights, in order to make the wet snow freeze, allowing a more solid platform for our elbows in the prone position and for us to powerfully ski on as we know we can. A sinking elbow, could dramatically change our sight alignment and sight picture, replacing all 5 hit targets with 5 missed ones ("He ain't lying", as the coach would usually say...)
The coach zeroed us and left us to our own devices for an hour of shooting, we all worked on the elements of shooting we personally feel weak at with a few sprints into the range to do some shooting with a pounding heart rate and help remind the body what will be expected of it tomorrow. We then finished off the days training by skiing and inspecting the intended course for tomorrow 4 x 10 km team relay which Danny & I will classic the first 2 legs before handing over to Mat & Coach who will be doing the 2 skating legs, gulp!
Hopefully it stops snowing and the track is pisted properly for tomorrows amazingly tough race! Wish us luck!
