Once again I won’t be making it to the end of the season, as I’m being sent back to UK to get my knee looked at again. This means I won’t be racing this season and possibly not the next L today’s race was the 10k so called mass start, it was 6 mass starts setting off two minutes after each other. In the first group coach manage to talk his way in so he could race against the fastest, this pushed Mat back a row causing a bit of a kafuffle at the start.
The course was two loops of the 5k loop used in the other day’s race, with only one large hill so it would seem an easy course... but you would be mistaken, every person I saw racing today was hanging out… also the track was a lot faster so on the downhill’s a lot of the novice skiers were falling. Coach was leading the whole way round closely followed by Dave Lamb. He managed to pull away on the finish straight and win the race once again with a 2 sec lead!
In the next heat coming in not too far behind was Carl and Mat, Carl pulled away on the first lap but both looked really tired, Carl held his lead and had a pretty good time along with Luke who was in the 3rd mass start and had a very strong ski. The results are testament to this with the Team coming 6th overall and the individual race positions and times were:
1st Carl Carrier – 25:38
8th Luke Tyler – 28:54
17th Carl Pointer – 30:02
26th Mat Bailey – 31:51
8th Luke Tyler – 28:54
17th Carl Pointer – 30:02
26th Mat Bailey – 31:51
