Carl finishing with some of the German National Team |
We woke up to find it was raining outside this meant a nice
wet morning mobility and morning training session. We did our jog and core
session as normal. At 9.20 coach came to the flat to get ready for the training
session. This morning we were going down to the running track in Ruhpolding to
do a 3000 metre best effort run test as a base for us to work on and for coach
to plot our progress through the different training camps this year. At 9.30 we
set off jogging to the running track which is about a 20 minute run from the
flat. We jogged the first 10 minutes then we periodically increased the pace
during the last 10 minutes. We got to the track to find part of the German
national team was also using the track this morning doing lactate testing. We
got ourselves sorted, Carl and grant were to run first with coach and myself to
run after so we could take times and split times as it was 7 and a half laps of
the track for the 3000m. Coach set Carl and grant off Carl being a good runner
took a lead on grant which he maintained till the end. Carl finished in a time
of 10.17 with grant coming in at 11.00. Now it was
coaches and myself turn. Carl set us off then went to take our times. Me and
coach stayed together through the whole run but on the last lap he pulled away
and I couldn’t catch up. Coach came in at 11.22 with me at 11.34. It was a hard
run but good times set for us all to work on during the summer with us
hopefully being able to take 10% of our times. After we had got our stuff
together we headed back to the flat for some lunch. We were down the range
again in the afternoon doing some running combi shoots today we worked on prone
shooting with coach taking us through the process slowly so we could say it in
our heads as we got down to shoot. It worked well and we were all shooting
better by the end of the session. We had a little shooting game at the end
called the chase the snake. It was a fun end to the session with coach winning
the prone shoot and myself the stand.
